At Timik Engines, near Southampton in Hampshire, we specialise in remanufacturing quality diesel engines on-site. As proud members of the Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers, we ensure every engine meets the rigorous standards of BSI AU 257:2002, part of the British Standard Automobile Series.
The engine pictured is the Perkins 1104C-44TA Intercooled (Manitou Spec), it is a turbocharged intercooled 4-cylinder diesel engine offering 4.4 litres of displacement with direct injection, built to Manitou’s specific engineering requirements.
This variant was engineered specifically for Manitou telehandlers and material handling equipment, with specific mounting configurations, auxiliaries, and control systems matched to Manitou’s requirements. Manitou’s extensive use of Perkins engines across their telehandler range reflects the confidence placed in this power unit.
The intercooled turbocharged configuration delivers the power output required for heavy lifting and rough terrain operation. The Manitou-specific configuration means attention to correct component specification during rebuild.
Parts availability is strong through both Perkins and Manitou networks, and the engine’s proven design allows for rebuild to original specifications. Post-assembly, each engine undergoes rigorous dynamometer testing, guaranteeing reliable operation under realistic conditions.
The engine block is bored back to standard with new liners fitted. The cylinder head is remanufactured with valve seats re-cut and new valves fitted. The crankshaft is ground to precise tolerances.
All engines are rebuilt in our clean workshop with new pistons and rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump, and complete gasket set. Fuel injection equipment is remanufactured and turbochargers replaced where applicable.
Every engine is dynamometer tested to confirm correct power output, oil pressure, and operating temperatures. Engines are painted and prepared for delivery with full documentation.
