At Timik Engines, near Southampton in Hampshire, we specialise in remanufacturing quality diesel engines on-site. As proud members of the Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers, we ensure every engine meets the rigorous standards of BSI AU 257:2002, part of the British Standard Automobile Series.
The Perkins 1104C-44 is a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine with 4.4 litres of displacement and direct injection. Part of the Perkins 1100 Series, the 1104C-44 is the naturally aspirated variant of the 1104 family, meeting Tier 2 and EU Stage II emissions standards. Engines with the RE build prefix are mechanical fuel system units, identified by a serial number beginning RE.
The 1104C-44 uses a 105mm bore and 127mm stroke, with a compression ratio of 19.3:1 and a firing order of 1-3-4-2. Its naturally aspirated architecture results in a robust, straightforward engine with a strong service history across light industrial and materials handling applications.
The 1100 Series design prioritises ease of servicing, with single-side service access and 500-hour service intervals.
The 1104C-44 RE has been widely specified across industrial and materials handling equipment, including Hyster forklifts, industrial backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, generator sets, and a range of light industrial power units.
The engine block is bored back to standard with new liners fitted. The cylinder head is remanufactured with valve seats re-cut and new valves fitted. The crankshaft is ground to precise tolerances.
All engines are rebuilt in our clean workshop with new pistons and rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump, and complete gasket set. Fuel injection equipment is remanufactured and turbochargers replaced where applicable.
Every engine is dynamometer tested to confirm correct power output, oil pressure, and operating temperatures. Engines are painted and prepared for delivery with full documentation.
