The Perkins 1104C-44TA Long Block is a turbocharged intercooled 4-cylinder diesel assembly offering 4.4 litres of displacement with direct injection. Manufactured from 2004 to 2011, the 1104C-44TA represented an evolution of the 1100 Series platform.

The engine incorporated improved emissions compliance while maintaining the power output and reliability expected from Perkins industrial engines. This long block powered Manitou and Terex telehandlers, backhoes, generator sets, Hydrema equipment, and combine harvesters.

The engine is also known as the Caterpillar 3054C/T equivalent, reflecting the Perkins-Caterpillar relationship. The long block configuration includes the complete short block assembly plus the cylinder head, providing a substantial foundation for rebuild.

This allows rebuilders to add specific fuel injection equipment, turbochargers, and ancillary components to match their application requirements. Post-assembly, each engine undergoes rigorous dynamometer testing, guaranteeing reliable operation under realistic conditions.
