At Timik Engines, near Southampton in Hampshire, we specialise in remanufacturing quality diesel engines on-site. As proud members of the Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers, we ensure every engine meets the rigorous standards of BSI AU 257:2002, part of the British Standard Automobile Series.
The Perkins 1004 and 1004T Short Block (Industrial Block) is available in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged configurations, offering 4.0 litres of displacement with direct injection.
The industrial block specification denotes an engine block designed for non-structural mounting applications, using conventional engine mounts rather than forming part of the structural powertrain. These short blocks powered forklifts, generator sets, compressors, and industrial equipment.
The industrial block configuration allows for flexibility in mounting orientation and ancillary component positioning. The short block configuration includes the engine block, crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, and bearings.
This provides the core rotating assembly while allowing rebuilders to add specific cylinder heads and peripheral equipment matched to their application requirements. Post-assembly, each engine undergoes rigorous dynamometer testing, guaranteeing reliable operation under realistic conditions.
