New Perkins 403J-17T turbocharged complete engine from the 400J Series. Available in two specifications: IF30972U (industrial) long motor and this complete IF83796U (JCB OEM spec, dual certified EU Stage V and US EPA Tier 4 Final). Rated at 17.7kW.
1.7-litre, 3-cylinder, in-line, turbocharged, indirect injection. Bore 84mm, stroke 100mm. Up to 18.9kW. Maximum torque 103Nm. EU Stage V / US EPA Tier 4 Final. No aftertreatment, no EGR, no electronic engine management.
The turbocharger delivers stronger low-speed torque and better altitude performance compared to the naturally aspirated 403J-17. This engine is a recognised close match to the Caterpillar C1.7, making it a practical replacement option for compact machinery originally fitted with that unit.
Supplied as a long motor. Includes fuel injection pump and equipment. Flywheel, fan and electrics are not included. Compatible with 12V and 24V electrical systems.
The IF83796U build is JCB OEM specification. This is a Perkins engine supplied to JCB as an OEM unit for use in compact construction machinery. It is not a JCB-manufactured engine.
Suited to compact excavators, mini loaders and similar off-highway machinery. If you are replacing an existing engine in a JCB machine, confirm your build prefix matches IF83796U before ordering. For the long motor option, order IF30972U and swap your flywheel, and electrics from your old unit to our new motor.
