1.7-litre, 3-cylinder, in-line, naturally aspirated. Bore 84mm, stroke 100mm. Indirect injection, mechanical fuel system. Up to 18.9kW at 2,200rpm. Maximum torque 97.9Nm. EU Stage V / US EPA Tier 4 Final. No aftertreatment, no EGR, no electronic engine management. Service interval 500 hours.
The larger 1.7-litre displacement compared to the 403J-11 delivers stronger low-speed torque, making this engine well suited to machines that operate at lower speeds or require confident cold-start performance.
Direct replacement for the Perkins 403D-17 (build prefix GS) and 403C-17 (build prefix HM)
Supplied as a long motor. Includes fuel injection pump and equipment. Flywheel, fan and electrics are not included. Compatible with 12V and 24V electrical systems.
This is a Perkins engine used across a range of compact construction and agricultural machinery. It is not a JCB-manufactured engine.
