This is the Perkins 1004.42 AR build short engine, a four-cylinder, 4.2 litre naturally aspirated diesel from the Perkins 1000 Series. It is built at Timik Engines in the UK using a mix of new quality aftermarket and genuine Perkins parts, and sold outright.
A short engine is the lower core assembly: cylinder block, crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods, without the cylinder head. This unit runs a 103mm bore and 127mm stroke, an 18.5:1 compression ratio, a 1-3-4-2 firing order and direct injection. It comes with an oil pump* (unless your engine is fitted with a balancer unit), top and bottom gasket sets, front and rear seals and a head bolt kit. Your cylinder head will need to be converted to fit.
The 1004.42 AR build is usually fitted to Manitou telehandlers, JCB machines, and Massey Ferguson and Landini tractors. It suits builds including AR81026, AR50679, AR50659, AR36516, AR81148 and AR50750 among others. For reference the block part number is ZZ50300, not available as a bare block, with casting 3711H08A/1.
