Timik sell diesel engines for the agricultural/farming, industrial, construction, marine industries and more. The main brands we focus on are Perkins Industrial and Agricultural engines, JCB diesel engines, Ford Industrial Dorset/Dover Marine (Ford Mermaid, Lehman, Sabre etc), and Ford New Holland Tractor Engines.

A remanufactured engine is an engine returned to the manufacturer’s specification, we are a member of the Federation of Engine remanufacturers and build in accordance with the British Standard Automobile Series BSI AU 257:2002.

As per this standard and FER’s description on their website:

Components shall be inspected and checked against manufacturers tolerances. Key components including piston assemblies, big and small end bearings / bushes, gaskets, seals , timing chains and drive belts are renewed whilst items such as tensioners and dampers are checked and replaced where necessary.

Important additional operations such as crack testing machined components or deburring reworked oilways ensure original performance is achieved with reliability.
As well as having all key clearances, tolerances and end floats checked after assembly complete engines are also required to be checked for oil pressure and compression.
Finally, remanufactured engines offer the additional advantage of having their own unique serial number stated in the accompanying documentation which details renewed components, completion date, test records and relevant instructions.

A reconditioned, or repaired engine is where faulty parts have been fixed or replaced to resolve a specific engine issue, rather than the entire engine being disassembled and rebuilt. The word “reconditioned”, or “recon engine”, will commonly be used so it always advised to confirm exactly what you are getting before purchase.

A used engine is a secondhand engine previously installed in another vehicle, usually “sold as seen”, and may be untested. Although these can be sourced at a lower cost they are not as future proof as a remanufactured engine.

Timik sells new diesel engines, mainly Perkins and JCB branded engines but we are able to source other brands when supplied with the full engine serial number and information.

We also offer a remanufacturing service for engines, either on a service exchange basis, or we will reman your own engine if we cannot offer one from our stock.

We supply engines and parts that can be adapted to fit a wide range of agricultural and construction machinery. Many of the engines we provide are designed with flexibility in mind, making them suitable for various machines and applications.

Our coverage includes:
• Agricultural machinery – Tractors and combine harvesters from leading brands such as AGCO Massey Ferguson, McCormick, and Claas.

• Earthmoving and construction machinery – Engines suitable for telehandlers, forklifts, and skid-steer loaders from trusted manufacturers like Manitou and JCB.

Because many of our engines are interchangeable, we can often support other makes and models beyond those listed. If you’re unsure whether we can supply for your specific machine, our team is always happy to advise and confirm compatibility.

In some cases we may have some old core engines in our stock that we can remanufacture on a ‘to order’ basis. However, most of the time we will offer to remanufacture your own engine.

Our remanufacturing process is designed to restore engines to a high standard of reliability and performance, meeting strict industry guidelines.

The process includes:
• Complete strip-down and inspection of the engine.
• Remanufacturing of the fuel injection equipment.
• Fitting of a remanufactured turbocharger (where applicable).
• Engine block rebored, liners fitted, and machined back to standard.
• Crankshaft ground to spec, or polished subject to condition.
• Installation of new pistons, rings, and bearings.
• Cylinder head fully remanufactured – valve seats recut and new valves fitted if required.
• All gaskets and seals replaced with new components.
• All other parts inspected and replaced where necessary.
For marine base engines, we also:
• Line-hone the main bearing housing.
• Hone connecting rods and fit new bushes.

Every engine is then reassembled in our clean workshop, following the correct procedures and tolerances.

To ensure quality and performance, each engine undergoes a 4-hour dynamometer test, is finished with a protective coat of paint, and prepared for delivery.

As proud members of the Federation of Engine Remanufacturers, all our remanufactured engines conform to the quality standards set out in BSI AU 257:2002 (British Standard Automobile Code of Practice).

All our remanufactured complete engines are dyno tested before being deemed complete.
All our new engines have been tested by the manufacturer prior to sale.

Remanufactured Complete Engine Warranty:

Our remanufactured engines carry a 12 month warranty from invoice date. This does not include removal or refitting of the engine, or renumeration or loss of earnings. Please request a copy of our warranty terms for more information.

We can in some cases negotiate the warranty to start at time of installation, if agreed beforehand.

Short or Long Motor Engine warranty:
Timik Engine's short and long motor engine options carry a 6 months parts warranty only.

New engine warranty:
New engines will carry a manufacturers warranty, however this can be subject to which country the engine is supplied to. Warranty may be subject to meeting the emissions standards in the country of purchase. If a new engine is not covered by the Original Equipment Manufacturer, Timik Engine’s offer a 6 months parts warranty.

New “Aged Stock” engines:
Engines that are considered “surplus stock”, or “old stock” refer to unused engines that were never sold, often in original packaging but the model might now be discontinued. These engines are no longer covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Timik Engines do not offer a warranty on these engines unless we advise otherwise.

Remanufactured Engines: Yes, our warranty applies to both UK and EU customers.

New Engines: No, subject to where the engine is sold to this may impact the warranty coverage of the engine or parts.

Please contact us directly for any advice regarding oil changes or first engine services after engine installation, so that we can supply the correct information for your engine.

Yes, we deliver within the UK. Depending on area we can offer a next working day service, or an economy delivery service (2-3 working days).

We charge delivery at cost based on your post code, please contact us with the full address information for us to be able to quote delivery.

We do not deliver on weekends.

Yes, Timik Engines are experienced in engine export and will provide a custom shipping quotation based on your address and requirements.

We also offer an engine crating service for extra security during shipping, this is mandatory if we are handling shipping by sea or air, or to certain locations.

Most couriers offer “business to business” shipping, and you will be required to have a VAT number that is valid for cross-border transactions. If you are not VAT registered, Timik Engines can still help with shipping but you will not be able to reclaim import VAT on your VAT return.

Timik Engines ship engines worldwide.

For customers based in the USA there are restrictions on which engines can be supplied due to EPA (Emissions Protection Agency) laws and regulations. If an engine does not have the correct EPA sticker then it will not be compliant and may be rejected during customs clearance.

Timik Engines are able to supply new replacement engines with valid EPA stickers for certain models in order to ship to the United States. Please contact us with your engine information to confirm if we can supply a replacement engine for you.

Depending on area we can offer a next working day delivery service from time of dispatch, or an economy delivery service (2-3 working days) for our UK customers.

Delivery estimations for international orders may vary depending on if they are shipped by road, air or sea. Most road freight to Europe may take 1-2 weeks.

We offer tracking for our international engine shipping.

UK order tracking can be monitored by contacting us directly, and we will provide updates from our courier's pallet network.

Shipping is available by road, air or sea depending on our international customer’s location and requirements.

Our engines are mainly shipped on the following incoterms, subject to location:

DAP: Delivered at Place.
This is where the seller delivers the goods to a named place agreed with the buyer, handles all transportation, and bears all risks and costs until the point of destination, ready for unloading. The buyer is then responsible for unloading the goods and covering any import clearance, customs duties, and taxes at the destination.

DDP: Delivered Duty Paid.
The seller handles all costs and risks associated with shipping goods to a specific destination, including export and import duties, taxes, and customs formalities. This Incoterm places the maximum responsibility on the seller and the minimum on the buyer, essentially delivering the goods to the buyer's doorstep ready for use, with the buyer only responsible for unloading.

DDP – VAT POSTPONED (for engine deliveries to France)
As of 2022, France moved to Postponed VAT accounting. We use Europa Worldwide to ship to France, they clear the goods in France and ‘postpone’ the VAT on our customer’s VAT account in line with French regulations. They will then send a monthly consolidated report of all entries made against your VAT number.

In the event we do not use Europa Worldwide to ship to your location, we will advise of any change to the incoterms at this stage.

EX WORKS: customer handles all shipping and associated costs. Proof of export would be required in order for Timik Engines to provide a zero rate VAT invoice.

For all other incoterms, please contact us.

In some cases there may be additional costs for engine crating services, this is a custom service, quoted on request.

There may be additional costs for a tail-lift or missed colllections and deliveries.

All our engines are safely secured to a pallet for transport, in most cases they will be pallet wrapped (with plastic wrap) or within a cardboard box on it’s pallet.

Engine crating is available at additional cost on request.

You may reject the delivery due to damage. If you accept delivery you must ensure that you note the damage on the delivery note and take clear, comprehensive photos of the damaged packaging and engine. We would advise keeping the packaging in case the courier requires further photos of this.

This will assist us in pursuing an insurance claim, we will not be able to do this if we are not provided evidence of the damage.

Our shippers will handle customs clearance subject to the incoterms that the engine is shipped with. See Question: What shipping options are available for international customers?

EU regulations currently support the use of remanufactured engines, Timik Engines offer a ‘like for like’ replacement engine option only when supplying a remanufactured engine on a service exchange basis.

Timik Engines supply a commercial invoice for our non-UK customers, this will include detailed information about the engine, engine value, dimensions, commodity code (also known as a Harmonised System (HS) Code), and declaration of origin of the goods.

Timik can also arrange a Certificate of Origin on request by the chamber of commerce, these will incur an admin fee and certificate fee. These are supplied for our engine parts orders, on request.

We do not issue EUR1 certificates.

Copies of export declarations are available on request, if we have handled the shipment of your engine.

If your engine is shipped on a DAP basis, you will be liable to pay any duties or taxes upon import. Tax can be reclaimed in line with your business tax return.

If you are importing an engine as an individual, and not a business, then unfortunately you will not be able to reclaim the VAT incurred on the engine import.

VAT is not charged on sales to locations outside of the UK, and a zero rated invoice would be provided.

We can provide the necessary documentation (commercial invoice, proof of export, etc.) to support VAT refunds.

If you require us to arrange shipping to a UK shipping depot, we would unfortunately be required to charge VAT as the engine is being shipped to a UK location. In this case, we can refund the VAT to your original payment method as long as we receive valid proof of export.

Common types of valid proof of export include:

Bill of Lading (B/L) – issued by the shipping line, showing the goods have been loaded onto a vessel bound for a foreign port.

Airway Bill (AWB) – issued by the airline, confirming shipment by air.

CMR consignment note – for road transport within or out of Europe. A copy is provided by the driver on collection of the goods, and the final copy must be sent via email to us at [email protected] once the goods have been exported.

Export entry (customs declaration / SAD form) – official proof that goods were declared to customs and cleared for export.

Certificate of Shipment – confirmation from customs or a freight forwarder that goods have left, with clear reference to our invoice number and details of the goods.

Transport company confirmation – such as a signed delivery note from a freight forwarder showing delivery outside the country.

Orders can be placed through our website, all engines and parts in stock are visible in our online store. Alternatively, you can contact us by email or phone to place an order.

If you are outside of the UK, you will have an opportunity at checkout to input your address details and request a shipping quotation. We will then provide a custom quote for you and you will be able to make payment either through our online store, or directly with us.

We accept payment by online banking, and credit or debit card. We do not accept payment by PayPal or Amex for our engines.

No, we do not offer financing options.

We charge a core surcharge for our remanufactured engines. Please see our Core Returns section for more information. Question: Will I receive a refund or discount for the core return?

We do not charge a core charge on our new engines.

We will quote replacement or remanufacturing options based on your engine serial number, we will use this and any other information to identify your engine.

We will supply like for like engines only, or a very close match whereby only “bolt on” parts can be swapped from your old engine with minimal disassembly.

Timik Engine's can supply workshop manuals, engine specification information including torque settings, tolerances etc free of charge for Perkins, JCB and Ford NH and Ford Marine engines.

Yes, we can offer technical support on goods after purchase.

If your engine develops a problem after installation, do not attempt to rectify the issue yourself.

Contact Timik Engines by email or by phone to record the issue, supplying photos or video where possible. We will then advise on the next steps to take at this stage. If required, you will be asked to follow our engine warranty procedure, details and warranty forms are available on request.

Yes, all our remanufactured engines are supplied on a service exchange basis.

A nominal value is charged at the point of sale. If the exchange unit is not
returned then we reserve the right to charge a real time value for replacement of a like for like unit.

The exchange unit must be received in a condition suitable for remanufacture on a like for like basis, this means that the engine must be the same model and in the same state of completion, with no major damage.

If the exchange engine is not received on this basis then there may be a surcharge deducted from the surcharge to source missing or damaged parts.

If you are uncertain about the condition of your engine, Timik Engines encourages customers to send photos to us and describe the engine issue they have experienced so that we can be upfront with costs, and be as transparent as possible prior to order placement.

For example if your engine block has a hole through it because a connecting rod has been thrown out of the side, or your cylinder head is cracked due to overheating – we can factor in a donor block or head into your quotation and a surcharge would be charged for this item only.

We will usually quote for return of your engine core at the initial quotation stage, this is charged at cost subject to post code. Quotes for international shipments are revised at time of engine completion, as shipping rates fluctuate.

Once you receive your remanufactured engine, you will have time to swap any parts from your old engine such as flywheel, fan, starter motor and alternator etc.

We will then arrange collection of your old engine separately. We usually require return of the old engine core within 30 days, but this can be flexible if required, and agreed prior.

Once the core is returned we will assess it, and then refund your core surcharge subject to condition.

In some cases only a partial refund will be made if the engine has suffered major damage but this is very rare.

If parts are missing from the engine, then we may deduct the cost of replacement parts from the surcharge.

Remanufacturing engines helps protect the environment by re-using existing engine parts instead of scrapping them. This saves raw materials, reduces energy use and carbon emissions, and cuts down on waste — all while delivering an engine that performs like new.

In our remanufacturing process, we restore major components, and use environmentally safe cleaning methods where possible like ultrasonic cleaning and a spray washer in our workshop.

All fluids are responsibly collected and recycled, and our precision machining ensures minimal waste. This way, we not only give engines a second life but also significantly cut down on waste, emissions, and energy use.
